about WOMPS

Word of Mouth Print Space (WOMPS) is a volunteer-led community-accessible printmaking studio with weekly open hours and monthly workshops. Workshops and studio access are sliding scale and open to all skill levels. WOMPS started as a labor of love project in 2020 and is actively developing, with a small crew of volunteers who help make it run.

LOCATION: WOMPS is currently housed at the Blacklidge Community Collective (BCC) at the east end of the building. The building is located at 101 E Ventura St, Tucson, AZ, 85705.

SATURDAY GUIDED STUDIO/PRINT HOURS: Saturday guided print + studio hours are weekly from 10 am to 2 pm. The goal of studio hours is for people to be able to visit the space, get a tour, and work on small print projects. Saturdays are a great time to stop by if it’s your first time at WOMPS to say hello and to familiarize yourself with the space. If you’d like to become a friend of WOMPs or you already are, we also encourage people to come to open hours just to draw and hang out. More info on guided studio/print hours here.

WORKSHOPS: If you’re new to printing or looking to learn a new skill, workshops are a great way to make use of WOMPS! We work to make our workshops accessible no matter your income or experience level. We currently offer workshops in screen printing, cyanotype and block printing. More info on workshops here.

ACCESSIBILITY: We are located inside the BCC, a community space. Our space has steps to get into and is not wheelchair accessible. We encourage masks during indoor workshops and activities but the space is not a mask required space.

SLIDING SCALE: We offer use of the print space and materials at sliding scale to help cover the costs of supplies. Prices are suggested, please pay what you can. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please click here for details.
