Monthly and On-Demand Workshops:
We offer monthly workshops as well as on-demand workshops. If you are an individual, please subscribe to emails and follow us on Instagram for workshop announcements. If you are part of an organization or group that wants to have a workshop for your specific group, feel free to send us an email at wordofmouthprintspace@gmail.com to schedule one. Workshops are provided based on capacity.
ALL WORKSHOPS ARE SLIDING SCALE $10 – $40 (Prices are suggested, please pay what you can. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.)
Intro to Screenprinting
2 hours, 10 people max, any location.
Get a brief overview of the screenprinting process, learn how to print and cure pre-made designs on fabric. Use a press, DIY set ups, squeegees and water based ink. Bring your own t-shirts! Scrap fabric and paper provided.
Screenprinting Intensive
4 hours, 3 people max, at Word of Mouth Print Space.
Get an intensive overview of screenprinting. Learn how to set up art, burn and reclaim screens and print single color on fabric using different types of ink. This workshop is ideal for people who would like to use the space during guided print hours and/or eventually join the collective and have independent access.
Blockprinting
2 hours, 10 people max, any location.
Learn to carve a 4×6 rubber block and create a printed design on paper. Bring your own design, learn to use basic speedball carving tools and print with a DIY set up (no press) with water based ink on paper.
Less Frequent Offerings:
Intro to Cyanotype
1-2 hours, 10 people, any location (outdoor space required, must be taught during daylight hours!)
Learn to print using the sun! Print using cyanotype coated paper.
Reduction Print Workshop
2-4 hours, 10 people, any location
Learn a more advanced style of blockprinting – reduction printing. Use the same block to print one edition of a multi color design. Learn more about reduction printing here.
