guided studio/print hours

• Saturday studio hours during the summer are weekly from 10 am to 2 pm. Email us to confirm! If nobody has signed up or emailed us by Friday afternoon, sometimes we will take the weekend off. 
• The goal of studio hours is for people to be able to visit the space, get a tour, and work on small print projects. Saturdays are a great time to stop by if it’s your first time at WOMPS. 
• If you are hoping to work on a project that involves any of the screenprinting equipment during Saturday studio hours, you must be trained first. Saturday print hours are not a time to drop in and ask for a private workshop, the collective members staffing will have a range of experience. It’s possible the person hosting will be able and willing to support, but please reach out and let us know what support you need!
• If you’d like to use the 4 color press please sign-up on bit.ly/openwomps. Do not show up without notice! The sign-up makes sure nobody else will expect to use the space, emailing us will help us know what you need and make sure the space is prepared.

signing out & using the space (outside of guided Saturday hours)

NOTE: We know this system won’t work for everybody and can make access to the space difficult. Without systems we have had things get misused, supplies go missing, and had lapses in communications which has put more work on others and delayed projects. Our goal is to create common understandings and expectations around how the space is used and shared. 

• If you would like to use the print space for a project that involves any of the equipment outside of open hours, you must:
  • Have extensive experience and understanding of the screenprinting process or have talked with a collective member who is willing to help you.
  • Have taken a tour of the space and have a familiarity with the equipment and be able to access the space outside of open hours.
  • E-mail wordofmouthprintspace@gmail.com to let us know when you would like to book the space.
  • Sign out the time slot on the BCC calendar (a WOMPS collective member can help you with this). Be aware of other events before and after that may have clean up times. 
  • Have a keyholder willing to open and close the building for you.
  • Agree to clean up / leave the space as you found it.
  • Donate what you can to WOMPS using the sliding scale:

  • If you have never screen printed before, please attend a WOMPS workshop to get involved.
    
• If you would like to use the print space for a meeting, a class, etc. that does NOT involve using any of the print space equipment, please make sure you:
  • Are a BCC keyholder or have a BCC keyholder willing to open and close the building for you
  • Sign the space out on the BCC calendar 
  • Clean up and leave the space as you found it!
  • WOMPS supplies are for workshops and open hours, if you want to use any supplies from the space, reach out first. We often have supplies go missing and then can’t do what we planned on doing : (
